Pollination, Earth Elegies series
Our photographic collaborations construct fantasies in the guise of environmental performances for the protagonists of their images. We design elaborate sets within vast landscapes to address issues surrounding man’s relationship to the earth and technology while additionally delving into the human condition.
Our imagery appears timeless, otherworldly and surreal. Employing a poetic visual language, we layer our work with multi-meanings and interpretations, as we seek to investigate the interaction of nature, technology and human existence.
Our passion for theater, opera, ballet and cinema is reflected in our photographs which embrace symbolic imagery derived from the process of improvisation, spontaneous interactions and research. We explore unlikely combinations of characters and symbolic references in order to create images with multi-interpretations. We strive to offer the viewer symbolic images for contemplation rather than logical interpretation.
