The Tarayana Foundation’s Rural Development Initiative empowers disadvantaged Bhutanese women through business micro-grants, skills training, mentoring, and the facilitation of networking opportunities with relevant stakeholders.

Since 1981 the Dekyiling Settlement’s Norling Park in northern India has been the lifeblood of India’s largest Tibetan community, bringing thousands from all generations together for cultural and sporting events.  In 2024 the SOCF partnered with the town council to achieve a miraculous transformation of their dilapidated facility, creating a worldclass gathering place that recently hosted an International Tibetan Basketball Tournament. This well-executed restoration was accomplished at 1/10^th the cost of doing a similar project in the USA.
